Popcorn is one of the most popular snack foods among both adults and children. When you invite friends home or hold parties, or watch TV or movies with your family, it would be a bit boring if there is no popcorn at hand. Because of the popularity of popcorn, popcorn popper has also become a household staple. Using this machine, it would be incredibly easy to prepare popcorn. There are different types of popcorn popper, but they all work on similar mechanisms - you heat the corn up and keep it moving and let the kernels explode. To properly use the machine, here are a few tips for you to follow.

First, check the condition of the popcorn. Usually fresh popcorn would work perfectly while stale popcorn will not work well. Not only that, if the popcorn is not fresh enough, it will have a chewy texture and therefore is not so delicious. Therefore, before you pour the corn into the machine, always check the expiration date on the package. This will ensure that you will eat fresh, delicious popcorn and that it will not be too difficult for you to wash the machine. One tip to ensure good quality of the popcorn is to store it in a container which should be airtight. Put the container in a dry, cool place. Remember not to put it in the fridge as it will make the kernels too dry.

Second, find the popping chute of the machine and remove it. After that, pour approximately half a cup of popcorn kernels into the bottom of the part of the machine which is called popping chamber. Remember not to pour into the chamber too much of the popcorn.

Third, add butter into the popcorn popper. Here you must first make sure whether your machine is equipped with a butter melter. If it is, then you can add butter directly taken out from the fridge. If it is not, then you have to melt butter first by your own and then add it into the machine. To melt the butter you can use either the stove or the microwave.

Finally, put the popping chute back into its original place. Now you need to find a bowl which is heat-proof and put it under the popping chute. If you cannot find a bowl which is high enough to reach the bottom of the chute, just place some newspaper stacks or something solid and stable under it to increase its height. Now you can turn on the machine and wait for the kernels to explode. When it is almost finished, unplug the machine.

Now enjoy your popcorn!
